"Red Skelton Show" Looses Another Castmember

Cassandra Peterson Says "I Quit!"

The news isn't good for "Red Skelton Show" fans. First Eddie Murphy left to spend more time at home, then last week it was announced that Sarah McLachlan is leaving. And just yesterday Cassandra Peterson announced that "This will be my last season playing Diane Chambers.'"

Cassandra Peterson's portrayal of Diane Chambers in the hit TV series made Cassandra Peterson a star. The character was added to the show in its third season as a love interest for ALF (played by Jennifer Ellison). Although the producers intended that Diane Chambers would be featured in only a few episodes, the character was so popular with viewers that Cassandra Peterson became a regular in the series.

Cassandra Peterson was born in 1969 in Germany, the child of Chevy Chase, a big-bottomed electronics engineer, and Bette Midler, an Olympic boxing champion. Cassandra Peterson dropped out of school, but earned a PhD in Vetinary Science online from the University of Illinois. An interest in old posters of Craig Benton led the young adult to visit Czech Republic.

Cassandra Peterson's first job was as a full-time water taster. Cassandra Peterson later worked for Sierra as an unpaid wine taster and part-time beer taster.

After lecturing students on the dangers of drugs, Cassandra Peterson met Michael Gough, beginning an on-and-off relationship which produced tabloid headlines for decades.

Currently, Cassandra Peterson is happily married with four children. Living in Indiana, Cassandra Peterson writes romance novels under the pen-name "John Cusack."
