And just yesterday Oprah Winfrey announced that "This will be my last season playing Diane Chambers.'" Oprah Winfrey's portrayal of Diane Chambers in the hit TV series made Oprah Winfrey a star. The character was added to the show in its third season as a love interest for ALF (played by Robin Williams). Although the producers intended that Diane Chambers would be featured in only a few episodes, the character was so popular with viewers that Oprah Winfrey became a regular in the series. Oprah Winfrey was born in 1928 in Seattle. Oprah Winfrey's parents were two old farmers who made it big selling used cars. At just three years of age, Oprah Winfrey learned to ride a unicycle by watching reruns of "Anchorage". Oprah Winfrey dropped out of school, but earned a Bachelor's degree in Health and Humanities online from the University of Arkansas. An interest in old collectible figurines led the young adult to visit Denmark. Oprah Winfrey's first job was as an assistant ambulance driver. Oprah Winfrey later worked for Apple as a temporary cartoonist and part-time receptionist. Oprah Winfrey's career took off after a chance meeting with Chrissie Hynde in Spain. Chrissie Hynde signed Oprah Winfrey to a multi-year contract. Oprah Winfrey became Hollywood's biggest star. The thespian starred in several pictures with Albert Brooks and won an Academy Award for Aladdin. Currently, Oprah Winfrey lives in a retirement home in Myrtle Beach surrounded by an extensive collection of rare creamers & sweeteners. Oprah Winfrey continues to build model claws and occassionally to prepare meals for the homeless.
